Gdansk - Beautiful, Colorful Place

Very lively place - colorful buildings, pirate ship ride, classic car ride, Giant wheel, restaurants - good place to spend a day. We thoroughly enjoyed the place. Since we wanted to go in the Giant Wheel during the sunset time - we also went to a nearby beach (Brezezno).

Picturesque… but not quite the character of Wrocław or Krakow
Myself and 9 friends visited Gdansk for the weekend in February 2023. We enjoyed the old town a lot, you can walk down many picturesque streets including Długa Street (the Main Street) and visit one of the many shops, bars and restaurants. It was quite quiet when we visited, but there was some suggestion from friends who have visited previously and locals that it is much busier in summer. There are so many bars and restaurants in the old town though that you can’t really go wrong. We were a large group but had no problem walking in to many of the establishments in the old town without booking in advance. There are many standout features such as the beautiful buildings, the fountain and St Mary’s Basilica. However, I felt that the Old Town square in Krakow and in Wrocław had slightly more character than Gdansk. Having said this, I would return to Gdansk, although I’d recommend visiting in the summer as there are some great scenic spots for food and drink along the river.

    Simply Beautiful
Gdansk's old town is one of the most beautiful of Poland. You'll never get tired of walking around appreciating the architecture. The vibe it's just incredible. You'll find a lot of history, nice cafes and restaurants. I visited the city during March and the weather was super crazy (sunny, windy, rainy and snowy, all during the same day). Not to mention the covid restriction but I'll definitely gonna be back during summer time.
