Wonderful place to visit! Well organized.

Awesome! Beautiful medieval castle that is interesting for kids and adults. Due to ticket office lines it’s worth to buy a tickets online or in the ticket vending machine and then just pick up audio guide. I highly recommend buying an audio guide option with the ticket so you can visit the castle with your private guide :). Audio guide is very well edited and gives you a lot of info. Have a break and eat in castle restaurant. Main courses are huge so they can be shared or buy kids meal that’s more than enough for an adult. Salad with chicken is 25zl (enough for one person) and kids meal is 18zl. I recommend having a brake because you will walk for more than 4 hours with audio guide. There’s a lot of stairs and uneven surfaces so it is not a disabled friendly place. There are some accessible spots but majority is not. There is accessible restroom. Summarizing it is a wonderful place to visit.

    Wonderful
Terrific visit to the world’s largest castle (by surface area) . Justifiably a UNESCO heritage site. Renting an audio guide is essential and very well done. It will help guide you to different locations on your route —it automatically knows where you are so no need to input any numbers. Plus the commentary is friendly, clear and presented in an interesting manner. The castle is huge and there are some highly interesting exhibitions on amber; weapons (both European and Middle Eastern) ; how the Teutonic Knights lived; the castle’s renovation; etc. I spent just under five hours in the castle, including a 45 minute lunch break. I’m a history buff, but it would be hard yo see the castle in less than 3.5 hours. While the castle is great, it’s restaurant is not. They have a monopoly and know you will only eat there once. Hence, while the decor is nice, the food is carby stodge. Vegetarians are especially badly served. Eat a good breakfast before visiting. There is a kiosk near the drawbridge where you can buy sandwiches and snacks. (The audio guide will advise you when it might be a good idea to refresh yourself.) There are also tents and stalls selling snacks in the afternoon when you exit the castle. I saw people lining up for freshly home made goulash. I was there at 8:45 AM to beat the summer crowds and was one of the first in at 9 AM. You can buy your ticket in advance online which will save time, as the issuance of tickets is not as quick as it might be. If you do this, also buy the audio guide online and just walk to the door of the entrance to the museum marked “Audioguide” to pick it up. You won’t have to queue in the long ticket line. Malbork is only 30 minutes by express train from Gdańsk or a 50 minute Uber ride. It will take you 20 minutes to walk from the train station to the castle. There are taxis at Malbork train station, but none waiting at the castle to take you back to the train station. Uber is also not available in Malbork. Upon returning to Gdańsk train station be careful with the taxi drivers. They will try and quote you a fare three times higher than the norm. Insist they use their meter, check prices on Uber (which partners with the local taxi co. In Poland) and even call an Uber if need be.
