Excellent experience
Called in the morning and we where wellcommed to ride same day. In a dark snowy forest with helmet lights on we had a nice riding trip. Child thinked this was best experience in Ruka so far.

wonderful encounter with nature
Took part in a lovely 90 minute family (2 adults + 2 teenagers) ride out on the Icelandic ponies with Katja as our guide through a snowy winter wonderland during our recent ski holiday based in Ruka. Fancied doing something a little bit different to the husky sledding and reindeer sleigh rides we have done before on previous visits to Lapland and this certainly hit the mark. Although I have many years horse riding experience my husband and 2 teenage children are very much novice riders but they also thoroughly enjoyed the experience and felt completely safe throughout. Contacted Katja from the UK some weeks before we arrived in resort and she suggested we catch the ski bus from Ruka to Kuusamo where she kindly arranged for transport to meet us at the bus station to take us to the stables about 10 minutes away and then take us back at the end of the ride - excellent customer service and highly recommended!!
