We arrive at The first stop of our tour. The place is breathtaking a savanna that suddenly shows its oasis. I have the luck to see the turtle that is unique to the area and found no where else in the planet!!! And yes, there are bathrooms!

Somethings great somethings awful
Food, don’t miss El Doc for some terrific home food. Stay, La Máquina is by far the best place with a range of accommodations such as the big house, cabins or camping. Stay at the house with Lulu and you will love it. The sand dunes are just amazing. The pozas are ok, just ok. If you have a chance visit the rock art sites in Valle El Hundido. The not so great? The people running the dunes are somewhat capricious. Some days they just decide bot to open. Hiring a guide is an-option but be careful. Our guide charged500 for the dunes and the petroglyphs. There we found a couple who paid 1300 pesos for the same tour

Mexican Oasis
Designated as a Pueblo Magico, it is a Mexican Biosphere Reserve it has Poza Azul, Las Dunas De Yeso, Desert, Bodegas Ferriño Winery and a picturesque downtown plaza, nice hotels including Hacienda 1800 great weekend getaway.
