Hiking along the stream

The recommended tour was a round trip ?4 mile hike following the stream. Much of it was in the shade and there were many opportunities to jump in the water, take a refreshing dip, or pause to enjoy the scenery. We went in July, when it was very hot, and our focus was to do things in/near the water. This was a special place to visit; there were lots of different groups here. Everyone was respectful. Allow 3 hours total to take it all in!

You must be fit in Summer
Yes, you should definitely be fit as the walk is rather long and in Summer it is ...HOT! So take plenty of water (1-2liters/pax), your hat, sunglasses and sunscreen. In Winter you'll see of course much more water and you won't suffer from the heat. You should also take walking sticks to help you if you're not sure to make all the walk, they'll help. My tip: avoid the Israeli fast period as the site might be crowded and it will lessen the atmosphere of this long walk which should be quiet and relaxing.

    Beautiful views, refreshing water
I had planned that this would be a half day trip but we ended up spending much longer. The hike down to the river and pools was rocky and steep. Fortunately much of it was in the shade. The water was cold and refreshing. After the pools, we continued on the trail for a while and had some beautiful views. Lots of oak, olive, fig and pomegranate trees.
