Hidden Gem
Hidden away in the old Acre Walls is this small, but beautiful little museum of life in Acre. It not big with major exhibits. It is professionally run and you can feel the love that curators had in collecting the items for display. Everything is organised perfectly with love and care that would put many museums to shame. The exhibits are humble, but well selected and every exhibit has at least a page of documentation in Hebrew and English. On it's own, the entrance would be quite expensive. However, you can go as part of the Acre Combined ticket and it would be well worth it.

Very Pleasant Surprise!
We were not going to bother with this museum but decided to go due to the free entrance tickets we received at the Crusader Fortress. It is located right out back of the Akko Youth Hostel. We were so pleasantly surprised by what we found inside. The museum is housed in an old fortress type structure, but has nothing to do with the crusades, but with olden times. Things like old printing presses, old ice boxes, old games, old tools etc - mainly an antique museum but such an interesting array of antiques. We thought it would be a quick in and out but found ourselves really taken with all of the exhibits which were extremely interesting and so well laid out and organized. Out back outside there was also a very nice garden to sit in with some antiques as well. Glad we partook in the adventure.

Small and cute
We especially enjoyed this tiny museum because it gave us a chance to show our five years old daughter the way some things, like ironing, shoemaking, pottery were made about a hundred years ago. It was real fun for her. Probably wouldn’t find this place so interesting if we were alone.
