A Museum that you kids should visit
The North of Israel is usually visited for its National Parks and Reserves, for its rivers, streams (Nehalim) and waterfalls, all of them amazing in Winter after heavy precipitations. So it is a good opportunity to pepper these family trips with a little bit of History. Especially when it is so important in the History of this country. You will learn of Yosef Trumpledor, this Russian Officer who came and died here defending the fortress which you can visit at the same occasion as it is not far from thus Museum.

An important Museum for what it means in Israel History
This is not an amazing Museum, but it has a great significance in the history of the state, and as such should be visited. Try to make some time for it between the Nature Reserves and waterfalls of the North.

How Jews learned to defend themselves after 2000 years of persecution
Hashomer (The Watchman) was the forerunner of the Israel Army, established secretly under Turkish and then British rule in what was Occupied Palestine until its liberation in 1948. A well designed museum worth visiting next to Kfar Giladi(within walking distance).
