Amazing

This is an amazing activity that I recommend to any visitor who wants to get to know the island, its beauties, the history of its inhabitants through different walking routes and paths. The tour by Lefteris is highly professional but at the same time fun and interactive. Lefteris will solve all the questions that arise while walking on the wonderful paths, but at the same time he will give you space and time to enjoy the scenery. You will learn about the importance of the paths and how they are connected to the history of the people of the island, the plants and herbs that thrive on the island and the local products that the island produces. So, the next time you visit Ikaria don't forget to take your hiking shoes with you. For everything else, Lefteris is your man.

Authentic nature + local culture experience
We had a guided hike from Akamatra to the coast with Chrysa and it was an amazing experience. The choice of the route was perfect for our group and she was an excellent guide in all ways. She is very funny and knowledgeable and told us stories along the way about the Ikarian local culture and ways of life making the whole experience really amusing and entertaining. We discovered a lot of secret hidden spots that we wouldn't be able to find on our own. And she even gave us some classes of Ikariotic dance in the square of a remote village! I also had the opportunity to meet Lefteris in some other activities and he is also a person worth meeting and worth sharing some time with. I really recommend going with them in any of the activities they offer. Your image of the island will be definitely enriched and you'll get the best possible introduction into the nature and the local life of Ikaria.

    Authentic, enriching, and memorable!!
Coming to Ikaria on a solo trip, I had the pleasure of experiencing two one on one guided hikes with the lovely and exceptionally knowledgeable Hrisa. The first hike traversed the Eastern Mesaria Stone Trail, from the sea in Evdilos to the villages of Droutsoulas and Akamatra. Hrisa exceeded my expectations with her knowledge on Ikarian plants and wildlife, as well as the island's rich history, from pirate evasion tactics to exploring the secrets of longevity. I learned about the vibrant culture of the Ikarian people and the much anticipated panigiris over a snack of fresh grapes Hrisa brought along. We stopped to identify a plethora of amazing herbs, and tasted the wild figs and blackberries. The second hike was coastal, exploring a circular trail around the east cape which started on the beach, ascended through the shrub covered hills, past the Drakano Acropolis and down past some majestic mountain goats to the secluded Dionysus cave and a quiet beach where we had a swim. Hrisa again shared wonderful knowledge throughout the hike, this time weaving in Greek mythology and stories about the Fourni Islands which were in sight for most of the hike. Never without snacks, Hrisa shared a delicious verbena tea and some local cookies, and we even got to attend a panigiri that evening, which was an exceptional experience. I left Ikaria having gained a rich understanding and immersion in authentic Ikarian life thanks to my time with Hrisa. Thank you Hrisa and Ikarian Footprints!
