great trip for the kids

visiting Razende bol to see the seals swim and play was great for the kids. The trip on a fast boat was also fun.

    Nice experience
Even though it was very cold and the sea rough, we had a great time. We traveled for about 30 minutes along the coastline of Texel and spotted a couple of seals in the water and on the sandbanks. We had plenty of time to take pictures and the captain was very friendly and knowledgeable. The boat isn't very big and fits twelve people, this makes it a bit more personal and no one has to fight for a spot to see something. I loved it and highly recommend going on this seal spotting trip.

Too far to actually see seals, we just say moving dots
First the pro's. The captain was very friendly, and our departure (and arrival) very punctual. There is a seal guarantee: if you don't see any seals, you get your money back. It's a small tour: 12 people max on the boat, and dogs are welcome. We were supposed to take the tour on Friday, but it was cancelled because of the wind. Het Sop contacted us timely and offered us other days to take the tour. But. The tour has recently upped its price from 25 to 30 euros. We understand, because of the rising (fuel) prices. But it's not worth it. It's a nice boat ride, but they take "seeing the seals" very broadly. We did realise in advance we wouldn't get a close-up with the seals, although the site does seem to suggest this with footage from seals on the regular beaches, but we didn't expect to stay that far away either. No chance of actually seeing anything but moving dots on the wad in the distance, and even less chance of taking a decent picture in which you would be able to make out these dots as seals. We regret spending 60 euros for the two of us, Ecomare was a much better investment.
