What a glorious little waterside resort!
Great vistas of across the water, excellent seafood and tasty Belgian beers..what more could you ask for! Little shops selling trinkets and souvenirs and harbor side vans selling fresh catch. The sun was shining when we went and it was quite magical.. to think some of the most famous painters had spent a night in this little place is quite easily believable!

Volendam, a friendly fishing village, worth a visit
While staying in the area, we enjoyed several strolls into Volendam to enjoy the small harbour and friendly atmosphere. While shops and restaurants were closed because of COVID-19, some restaurants and fish outlets offered take-away drinks and snacks. It is best to park the car upon arrival in Volendam and then walk to the harbour and dike.

Cute town on the Water
this is one of those while your are driving places you should stop in for a visit. this is an old fishing village with cute shops and museums. Put Volendam into your GPS and it will take you to the center of the city. Look for parking in one of the free town parking lots..... then you will see the Sign for the Market and Cute part of town down towards the water. Take a walk, take a stroll. We were there on a rainy and windy day--not much fun. However, the town is very cute.
