Surprisingly good fun
In IJmuiden we build the worlds largest sea lock. The Port of Amsterdam will become the number four greatest harbor in Europe. In SHIP, the information centre, you can experience the story behind the building process of the lock. SHIP is open every day and the entry is free. A guided tour, including a cup of coffee or tea, is available at 5 euro’s per person and can be booked on the website.

Largest sea lock in the world
Great exhibit with the story of building the largest sea lock in the world. Book the guided tour for only 5 euro. Nice videos and personal experiences of the tour guide.

Good info about current and new lock system
This place is definitely worth a visit. We are living close by and have seen the locks active in many cases, but some additional background on water leveling process and info about construction of new biggest lock in the world is very interesting.
