Great beach
Broad and long, not too busy, one of the few places where you can park free of charge. Nice beach cafes.

Lovely beach NOT busy
The beach at Ijmuiden is typical for the Dutch cost: opaque water, broad beaches, many shells on/in sand. The big difference with many other parts of the beach is twofold. First is is NOT crowded at all. Second, it most northern part ends with the Noordzeekanaal (North Sea Canal), a ship canal from Amsterdam to the North Sea constructed between 1865 and 1876. This means that when you stroll on the beach at Ijmuiden you can see ships sailing in and out the canal. This provides for very entertaining moments.

Summer days
nos o busy and as the weather was holding up we had a relaxing time until late evening some had built a bonfire and was a nice sight in the night time
