Interesting sculpture
The artwork (The Wave) is also a sofa. To muse, to meet and to remember the power of water. ‘Collaboration’, ‘solidarity’ and ‘victory’ together with the sad side of the disaster; ‘the cry’, ‘despair’ but also ‘the helping hand’ are coming together in The Wave. This memorial has the shape of a boat, and thus symbolically incorporated the significance of Noah’s Ark.

We enjoyed Marken
We drove ourselves from Amsterdam to Marken. It was cloudy with occasional drizzle, so there were very few people there. The fish and chips we bought in the maria were delicious.

This is a nice enough piece of sculpture.
The thing about commemorative artwork is that it is generally only of major interest to those with a direct connection to the event being commemorated. Thereafter, it’s artistic interest is a matter of personal taste. This is a nice enough piece.
