Leaves you wanting more!
We visited the Cheese Factory via a small group tour and really enjoyed ourselves. The presentation of how they process the cheese as well as the tasting of different cheeses were GREAT! The only problem is, we fell in love with a cheese that was unable to ship to the USA. They DO let you know before you purchase but still, that leaves us craving something we can't have. :) Enjoy your trip!

Cheese Swap?
We were on a tour in Edam that included touring this cheese factory. We were given a very brief explanation of how cheese is made, followed by entering the shopping area where their sales people and our guide were handing out samples. Most of the flavors were really good, some we did not care for, some we Really liked. We purchased about 70 euro of the three we liked the best. After getting them home and trying them, we wonder if they have different cheeses out for the sampling than what is actually sold. Two of them are very bland and no where near as good as what we were given there. The smoked cheese is the consistency of Velveta and has been thrown away. We think it was a case of bait and switch, even though they told us that we were purchasing the same as what we were sampling.
