Great opportunity to get on an F1 track, but a heavily sanitised experience

It was the perfect birthday gift for my bf! I bought the "Ultimate Race Experience" for him which included the followings: - Ford Mustang Drifttaxi (only CoPilot but you will enjoy it for sure! ;) - Formula race car (I'm not sure but probably with Renault engine, a good one) - Drifting with a Renault Clio RS - Quarter Mile with a Dodge Charger (actually 2, you drive both of them) ...lunch... - BMW 130i Cup - Porsche 911 - Slalom with a Suzuki Swift (Sport) - Gokart - 4x4 Suzuki Jimny offroad - Lamborghini Gallardo OR Ferrari F430 - Aston Martin V8 - some round with our own car This is exactly how our program looked like, I think there are always some changes. It is an all-day experience, it took about 8 hours or so, but of course in most of your time you listen to the intsructors and wait for the other participants. The lunch was included (sandwich). The track wasn't small, actually I think it was quite long. The staff was extremely nice, we talked with them a lot and in the end, they let us drive our own car on the track! One of the Mustang drivers were leading us, letting us give gas and drifting. It was also a huge experience! :) I can only advise to every car-lover to try this experience!

Great opportunity to get on an F1 track, but a heavily sanitised experience
We were staying next door at the Center Parcs and as a huge F1 fan, and experienced sim racer, I couldn't NOT get on the track. I bought the Race Experience package (around EUR400) as that was the only thing available. This URL contains the safety instructions for the event which actually gives you the specifics of what it includes that the promotional web site does not: raceplanet.nl/instructieraceexperiences (Note to Tripadvisor - this is not a promotional link. It contains the specifics about the actual experience I'm reviewing and will be of high value to people reading this review!) I have mixed feelings about this. It was extremely sanitised. Yes, you got on the track with an M1, a 911 and a Formula 4-type car, but you had to drive behind a safety car line astern with 6-8 other cars. If the cars stayed tightly bunched then the safety car would drive faster, but obviously there was a real mix of experience levels and in cars you've never driven before it takes a while to get confidence to be that close behind someone else, so invariably the safety car slowed and you went around at a fairly "safe" pace. For each car it was one out lap, across the start finish line, and then back in again. I think in the 911 we crossed the start/finish line twice. Managed to get up to 200kph in the 911, but the other ones it was fairly slow. The rest of the event was filler (although it was interesting filler) - a slalom and a handbrake turn in a hatchback, skidpan driving, 10 minutes karting on a short track (which hilariously changed shape each lap as novice karters kept punting the tyres all over the place), a drag race in a muscle car, some off road driving, and a go sim racing (with some nice rigs and Fanatec kit, but a rather game-like mod on rFactor2). A few other folks in our group had paid about EUR300 extra and also got turns in a Ferrari, a Lambo and an Alpine (but again, follow the leader, and about 2 laps in each). I think if you go in with low expectations for the experience of being on an F1 track (even if you're not really going that fast) then it's fine. And the price is reasonable considering how much these cost. And if you're a novice and this is your first on-track experience it's safe, well organised, and there's really zero chance of you having an accident unless you do something really stupid. But if you've done track days before or are expecting to get close to the limit of what the cars can do you're going to be disappointed. I'd have rated it 3.5 but had to round and I chose to round down because I'm not sure an out lap, once across the line, and back into the pits really counts as the advertised 3 laps. So, on balance, I would've regretted not doing it, but set your expectations accordingly. TIPS Spectators are welcome and you can roam around the inside of the track, and look inside the garages and up over the "Paddock Club" area on the main straight. It's a quite small track so you can have fun just looking at the behind the scenes of the track that you wouldn't get to see on TV or during a F1 weekend. Also, if you pay the EUR35 for the in car footage be aware only the BMW and the 911 have the camera (not the formula car) and you're in it for such a short amount of time I'm not sure it's worth it.
