The Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven was one of the first public museums for contemporary art to be established in Europe in 1936. The museum’s collection of around 2700 works of art includes key works and archives by Lissitzky, Picasso, Kokoschka, Chagall, Beuys, McCarthy, Daniëls and Körmeling. The museum has an experimental approach towards art’s role in society. A source of surprise, inspiration and imagination for its visitors and participants.

The main reason to visit Eindhoven
Outstandingly well curated museum. The.permanent collection was grouped in to themes on the day of my visit whilst the modern exhibitions on the higher floors are well chosen; I saw a fantastic one by a Turkish Artist on the day of my visit. Not cheap entry but well worth it. Pleasant Cafe on site as well so don't worry about Food requirements on the day of your visit.

Hidden gem!
Was in Eindhoven for the day and walking around the city, and popped in to the museum to check it out. I wasn't sure what to expect but I really liked it - very interesting artwork from artists I'd heard of (Mondrian and Picasso, for example) and artists I'd never heard of but really liked (especially the interesting camouflage dragons). Helpful docents as well.
