Fantastic forest for me nearby
Or you go by mountainbike, or you go for a wal with your loved one, or you go with you childeren. The mastbos can serve anyone. Childeren have a great venue in the play Forest, park your car nearby the Bouvigne castle a walk towards the big green field. A nice pound with challanging climbing obstacles for your kids. Walk deeper intro the Playmobil forrest and you will find more nice challenges for your kids. Start your walk at Huijs den Deijl or at De Boswachter. Mountainbike routes are not available however do a little bit of research and will find nice routes via sportstracker, relive cc etc. Or leave me a message and I will show you al the nice spots in the Mastbos.

Masts for VOC ships
This beautiful wood -only 3.5 km South of Breda station- is not wild nature, but cultivated since 1515 by order of the earl of Nassau who owned the land (Barony of Breda). The main purpose was the production of wood. Masts for VOC ships came from here. Nowadays it is mainly used for recreational activities, but wood (oak, beech and pine) is still harvested and of course it is a habitat for different kinds of animals such as roe. Great for hiking, running and cycling. Get there from Breda Central station on foot, by bus (number 6 and 7), or bike (rental at the station). Nearby Bouvigne castle grounds are open from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM on weekdays. Admission is free. A nice tour by bicycle is: Breda Central Station - Mastbos - Galder - Meersel-Dreef (Belgium) - return along the Mark river to Breda Central Station = 25 km
