Great castle!
The castle is one of the best preserved medieval castles in the Netherlands. Lodewijk (Louis) Berthout van Berlaer, Lord of Helmond, probably started building it between 1325 and 1350.

Short town visit
Very nice atmosfere in The city center of Helmond. Nice old Casle with a small Museum. Vert nice big market on Satureday.

Worth a visit but not a must.
If you find yourself in Helmond then this is worth a visit. But its only ok, a beautiful looking castle, with some good information and facts inside. But if you've been to one castle then its all the same sort of stuff. I feel this place caters to children more. Im sure its really fun for them and more interesting. At €10 a ticket I thought it was a rip off, But! You also get acess to another gallery/museum across the road with that ticket, so its ok.
