A great Alaskan day
Afishunt was amazing for the two days of fishing we had. As an Alaskan I need to address some old reviews of this company. 1. They can not control the weather, the crews will do the best they can to make it a great experience. 2. You are more than likely NOT going to get a 100-200lbs halibut, not saying no one will get it but our biggest fish was 38lbs, you need to be happy with that. 3. This company is a FAMILY, they made us feel safe and kept us engaged the whole time with our 2 boys (7 & 9). Captain Chad and Kyle were both awesome but more importantly is the deckhand who busted his butt to make sure we had a great time. Thank you Noah! We also stayed at the camping ground associated with Afishunt and it was a great campground with the cabin we stayed in. Highly recommend this place!

Fishing in Ninilchik
This is the second time we have gone out with this charter and stayed at the campground. Being AK residents, we know that it can be expensive to go out for halibut, but we have always felt we have gotten our money’s worth and then some with AFishunt charters. They have always been honest with us about weather, conditions, etc and have treated us like old friends instead of someone they are trying to make a quick buck off of. Captain Troy and Captain Cooper both set us down on fish and had us reeling in halibut on the first drop each time. Keagon, our deck hand, has been enthusiastic and really helpful despite being young... it’s been fun to watch him come into his own over the past year and we have always felt confident in his abilities on the boat. The office staff are personable and friendly. The campground is clean and well kept. We have had a group of 8 go out each time and have stayed in one of the cabins on the campground each time. It is more comfortable than most other “Alaskan style” options... if you’ve been to AK you know prices are high and quality is low but that isn’t the case here. If you’re looking for a quality family run business in Ninilchik, this is it. You will have a great experience rain or shine.

Always an excellent Halibut fishing experience!
My wife and I have been on Afishunt Charters at least 4 times now and every time it always have been the best fishing experience. From the ladies at the front office to the capatin/deck hand and the processors, everyone is not only professional but very friendly and helpful. We both specifically want to thank captain Devin and deckhand Noel (Hard 8 crew) for their dedication yesterday on our halibut/king salmon combo charter. After not having very much success 2 other boats went in early while Devin insisted on staying later and finding another fishing hole to ensure everyone on the boat had their quota. That was simply outstanding and we are very thankful! Always enjoy spending time with you guys on the boat in Cook Inlet!
