Lots of street food but mostly selling the same things. Giant ice cream cones, fried milk (a must try), fried whole squid, sugar cane juice. Take a boat across the river to Bali on the other side or take a boat tour around the river. We only had time to go across to Bali. If you go to Bali, rent a bike as there is so much to explore and you will be tired by the time you get back on the boat.

Not So Fresh
Dan Shui River (sometimes spelled Tamsui) literally means "Freshwater River". It may well have been in the past, but unfortunately today it is anything but. It is polluted with raw sewage and industrial waste, and is the subject of a big clean up campaign by the Taiwan Central Government. Despite this, it provides a pleasant place to walk and it is popular with locals who come here to watch the sunset.
