An absolute must. Value for money.

Come and visit the Outback Heritage Experience which combines a museum, theatre and gift shop, with interactive displays showing the history of the Service. It also tributes to the doctors, pilots and flight nurses who work for us, and the many community groups and benefactors who support us. Enjoy a talk by our tour guide. View the aircraft in the hangar. Watch a unique film in our 44-seat theatre. Shop for special souvenirs. Explore the Mantle of Safety Museum. The Flying Doctor Service is a charitable organisation. We rely on the generosity of the community to continue our life-saving work. All proceeds from admissions and merchandise sales go towards purchasing new aircraft and vital medical equipment. Visit the Flying Doctor shop where you can get branded mugs, books, clothing, aircraft models and much more. You can also purchase online at https://docshop.flyingdoctor.org.au/.

    Amazing organisation
I was saddened to hear this service is only 48% government funded with the rest of the funding required to come from support, like the price of the tour. Heard some people were annoyed by not being able to get a discount, I was happy to pay $12.50 per person. This was despite knowing, thanks to Covid, we would not be allowed into the communications room or the hangar. Tour itself took about an hour thanks to our informative guide who happily answered all our questions. There may be no such thing as a guardian angel, however, this experience demonstrates no matter how remote your travels may take you, help is available. We should all be grateful organisations such as this one exist, regardless of whether or not we ever require their assistance.

    Great experience
Information was delivered brilliantly by our guide, who had a lovely dry sense of humour.. the RFDS is a wonderful service that is crucial to outback safety & health and runs with the assistance of a dedicated team including volunteers (who should never be left out of praise).. Australia should be very proud of the RFDS and the ingenuity of so many Aussies who saw a need & refused to back down until it was achieved...and remember your entry fee & anything u buy goes back into the Service.. so spend up...
