Outstanding Museum......A Must Visit For Sure !!
One of the best museum's that I have visited, with a great array of rolling stock and exhibits covering a large span of rail history. Well worth the trip from Sydney which was fast and easy, and the Thirlmere area is very appealing as well. The friendly staff of the museum were outstanding and went out of their way to meet and greet visitors. A great bunch of volunteers who are doing a very good job. The steam train ride to Braxton and back was very enjoyable followed by a tour of the rolling stock in the goods yard. Excellent !! Highly Recommended.

    Fantastic Museum worth a visit
Visited this museumby chance. Completely overwhelmed by the experience. From the kindness of the gentleman who took our entrace fee and gave us a verbal introduction for the quality of the exhibits and how they are displayed, this place is sensational. The displays of small exhibits and of engine worksplates are breathtaking. The variety of rollingstock is amazing. The Railway Engines on display are beyond comparison. The whole site is enthralling, and I visited when they were not running trains!
