Mount Ettalong Lookout, New South Wales, Australia

Lovely Return Visit
It was 5 years since we last walked out to the lookout. Such an easy and beautiful walk through the gnarled Sydney Red Gums. The views over Lion Island, Pearl Beach and the entrance to the Hawkesbury are stunning. If you venture out to the rock outcrops overlooking the south take care as it is a very long way down. The big lookout at the end was closed as the ramp had deteriorated which was a bit disappointing.

Stunning views north & south
Beautiful, peaceful walk out to the two viewing platforms. Well worth the short easy walk but a shame the council don't make the path wheelchair friendly. Love the gnarled angophora trunks and wildflowers along the way. Views to Ettalong & beyond in the north & Lion Island, Pittwater & New Port in the South with Pearl Beach in the foreground.

Fantastic view
The Mount Ettalong Lookout is well worth a stop and take in the vista. There are fantastic views over Pittwater and Pearl Beach. There is a small parking area next to a water tower. The pathway is not clearly marked. We just followed a track up through the bush to the cliffs. You need to take care if you have younger children as there are cliffs with no barriers on the Pearl Beach side.
