energetic walk with great views
The start of the walk involves a bit of clambering over rocks, but it gets a bit easier from there. The track is narrow and there are lots of roots, rock and shale along the way, with intermittent railings and areas without any rails at all. I would recommend a stick if your balance is at all dodgy. The walk requires a bit of stamina as it is longer than anticipated. The signage at the beginning says it is about 6.5kms return - according to our Fitbits it was a bit over 4km one way, and took us about an hour and a half each way, but well worth the effort. Of course, if you are young and fit, it won't take nearly as long. Nice picnic area at the end, so take water and picnic along to fuel the return juirney.

Back to nature
My husband and I did the walk along the Molonglo River in Molonglo Gorge. It is quite challenging. My husband is 83 and we did not make it to the end point, conscious we had to complete the return walk. It didn't matter. In this case the end point is not a priority unless one is heading for the Blue Tiles picnic area. The views are lovely all the way. The ground is uneven, rocky and at times, not railed, so it definitely requires a reasonable level of fitness and concentration, but we found it worth it and a great experience.
