Lake Jindabyne, New South Wales, Australia
4.5 (393 reviews) Spent Ranking #1 in Jindabyne Bodies of Water
Jindabyne dam is near capacity
Lake Jindabyne which is really a dam is near capacity and the Banjo Paterson park is flooded and worth a look for seats that sit out in the lake now. The Lake is gorgeous when you come from the Thredbo direction. This is one of the more scenic spots in the Snowies.

What a great body of water.
We (4 of us) came to Jindabyne for a short holiday & spent time looking at it, walking around it & playing in it. And if you were driving through Jindabyne, a beer at the Banjo Patterson overlooking the lake would make a perfect pit stop. Ps. The lake’s capacity was 94%.

Peaceful walk
Took a walk here near the lake edge at the Banjo Paterson Park and found it peaceful and a nice area to wind down or if you are into water sports, there was quite a lot of activity in that department as well. There seems to be some memorials there but sadly some were badly damaged. A large pond that has not drained due to the rains seemed to have also attracted a lot of seagulls which has made the place smelly but otherwise, a nice spot.
