Beautiful spot to sit and watch the river flow past.
We also took a trip to nearby Brooms Head. It is a pretty spot. We used to camp there many years ago, when our children were young. The lagoon there is a wonderful and safe place for the kids to go exploring.

Camping at the Showgrounds
As we crossed the Clarence River bridge we saw to our right caravans parked on the riverbank in the showgrounds. Entered via the big double entrance and saw info on the amenities block. Camping is unpowered, toilets and water available. $10 pn. Honesty box or council officer calls in to collect. Grab your own spot. First in best dressed. There is a limit of 10 sites. These start to fill from 2pm. Big oval for a kick of the footy or ball games. 15 min walk into the historic Scottish town of MacLean. There is some traffic noise as the trucks cross the timber bridge. But a beaut camp spot.

Great area of New South Wales
I must admit that any regional area with good access and a magnificent river will win me over every time. As in most country area's the town's people and local character is usually warm and welcoming.
