Cat Balou Cruise November 2022

We always enjoy our experience with the Cat Balou crew. They are are so professional and knowledgeable of the area. Also true to their word because we didn’t see any whales despite going a long way out to sea we were refunded 50% of our money. We will certainly cruise with them next year as we do on a yearly basis. We can’t praise them enough

    So many whales in October
Did the 11.45pm - 2pm whale watching cruise on 10/10/22. Beautiful weather day. Clean boat. Great crew. Most importantly lots of whales!! Approx 8 separate mothers with their calf, two full body breaches and tail flips. Just beautiful seeing and hearing them. Calm seas for the first hour but got very bumpy & windy at the furthest point but no-one in the upper deck where I was got seasick. Free hot tea & biscuits was appreciated to warm up after being on the deck for so long. Booked as a port excursion with Coral Princess. We paid more than if you were staying in town on a land holiday but it was worth every cent. Highly recommend - just make sure you take layers especially warm jackets even on a sunny day with no wind at the wharf.

    best activity at Eden
While vacationing in Eden during Christmas 2021, we had booked the Twofold bay highlights cruise with Cat Balou cruises. This departs from the Eden Wharf, the only cruise agency at Eden. We were booked for 26/12, but in the morning, we received a text alert that due to high winds, the cruise was cancelled. We transferred our booking to the next day 27/12 for the 1pm cruise. It was raining incessantly the next day but the cruise was still on. We were taken to various lookout points as part of the cruise with some time to take pictures from the vessel. It was around 2 hours duration with viewpoints like Quarantine Bay, Boyd town beach and Tower, Whale beach, East Boyd, Chipmill and back to Eden Wharf, all the while commentary on the history and importance of each location was provided by the crew. There was also a complimentary snack and drink provided during the trip for all. What was great was the crew and the way they provide value added service to the customers. Due to the weather, parts of the cruise were a bit rough and I get seasick. Lana helped me by giving me a tissue dipped in eucalyptus oil which helped. Also, Lana and the crew was very helpful in transferring our bookings from 26th to 27th effortless, without a fuss. Very helpful and I would highly recommend everyone visiting Eden to take this cruise experience, particularly during the whale watching season.
