Dip to cool off

We decided to give the local pool a miss and head to bents basin for a swim.... We entered the park from the Silverdale end but have driven around the long way when we went a few years ago to camp for the long weekend..... access is great either way. Lots of families enjoying the sunshine... People had canoes, blow up boats and other inflatables. Shade is available if you take a short stroll. Toilets were clean. A really nice place to relax with your family.

Best place to avoid the heat
First let me say , online pictures of this place doesn't do the justice for this place. In real life this pace looks absolutely amazing. I was scared to go here because I saw it has the reputation of being the deepest water hole in nsw. But when I went there I found out that there is more than enough shallow water to swim around to people like me :) but for more adventurous folks there is a small cliff and you can jump off to the pool. Go and enjoy this amazing place.

Nice campground with clean and good amenities and friendly rangers
We went for Easter, so peak season and obviously it was fully booked. But there was still enough space, not packed like sardines next to each other. I guess outside peak season it must be even nicer. The only problem was, the water is a short walk which can get a bit annoying when carrying floaties, esky, towel, food .... and the respective children to all this. The swimming hole is stunning but it seems to be the Western Suburbs Beaches which means, again, many people - it's actually next to the day picnic area. I took great photos that make it look like a hidden gem with no one there but well, the truth is ... it is really close to Sydney, so you can't expect a desserted place ;) The rangers were really friendly and everything clean. Despite being fully booked we easily got a shady spot to set up our tarp castle.
