Great Whale Watching/Nature Trip

We went on a whale watching and nature trip and was very pleased with the trip. The boat was very comfortable with seating on the first and second deck. There were handholds everywhere if needed so we felt comfortable moving around the boat when it was moving. The captain was very competent and pleasant and the biologist on board spent a lot of time with everyone identifying wildlife and places. This trip is great for people of all ages.

    Great whale watching!!
My husband and I greatly enjoyed our whale watching trip with Island Quest in St. Andrews, New Brunswick. The trip took about three hours. It was mostly adults, but some children. The boat was large with two levels (and there is a small bathroom, a 'head'). Only a certain number of people can be on the upper deck of the boat at a time, so I recommend starting your journey up top as it is the best for viewing the whales! The staff on board was very knowledgeable. We learned about the animals that live in the Bay of Fundy, as well as some birds, and how they catch herring. We saw tons of Minke whales and many seals. It was a successful trip. Oh--it's cold on the water, even in August, so bring a jacket!!!

Whale watching in St. Andrews, NB
Taking a boat tour to see the whales in St. Andrews is a must do when in New Brunswick. Island Quest has a nice size and secure boat. You can stay inside and view through windows, outside in the back or on the open deck on top. They have a couple of marine biologists onboard to add to the viewing experience. We did not get to see much on August 25 except a couple of Minky whales. It was deceiving as a couple years back I took that same company in August and got to see many whales, seals, birds etc. Just mother nature. Still the boat tour is close to 3 hours, so it's well worth the amount paid. You can touch starfish, mussells and a crab on the boat and get some details about those little creatures. I suggest to bring a sweater as on the sea it's cooler then at the Pier. They sell nothing onboard so bring a drink or bottle of water especially if sunny. Ideally go to the restroom near the Town Hall before walking to the pier. Overall great staff and nice tour.
