    Hidden gem
This little museum was packed with information about the local fishing industry. The grandkids also enjoyed exploring the various displays. The highlight of their trip was trying on the survival suits and trying to do it in under a minute. We all have a new appreciation of what fisherman must endure.

    A must see!
This small museum packs a big punch, this is a destination for all ages! My husband and I have lived in New England for decades and never knew that New Bedford is the number one fishing port in the nation with the highest valued commercial catch. There's lots of hands on stuff for the kids and a small gift shop with some unique and appealing local gifts. It is conveniently located between the Visitors Center and the Seaman's Bethel. If you have the time I'd recommend the movie. We were lucky to have Joanne as our docent, she was very entertaining and knowledgeable.
