Trail walking to hunt for runs of the fort and museum with introduction of lukut

Not much left of the ruins but got a few trails to walk around with if you are into it. Can be hot during day time. You can drive yourself up if you dont want the long walk from the museum. follow some signs via the housing area. The museum is very clean and well maintained. Thats a nice one.

    Great!
Thank you for keeping the museum alive! That was a very nice surprise. The grounds are big. A good walk. The museum itself is pretty interesting. Very well maintained except that it’s dark in some spots. But good history and nice displays are in there. And ohhh, lots of monkeys around the grounds!!!

Interesting historical location but not well known
It's a pity the museum and fort are not given much publicity. Modern Selangor and Negeri Sembilan's history is intertwined with the history of this location. Internecine wars between various factions vying for control of the tin trade in the Lukut area prompted colonial powers to eventually step in to protect their interests. Various personalities linked to the fort such as Raja Bot, Raja Jumaat and Raja Busu were mentioned in history books but not much else, perhaps as a street name in Chow Kit. The fort on the hill used to be the headquarters of the local chieftain who controls the tin trade but now it is a shadow of its former self. There were few cannons left. Wakafs or huts are built at set intervals. Good for family picnics while enjoying vantage view of Lukut and Port Dickson towns. The museum is a relatively small 2-storey building. There aren't much exhibits compared to Bukit Malawati in Kuala Selangor but a good start to get to know the history of the location. You need private transport to reach this location which could be a factor this location is not as popular.
