Ruins with a story
The remains of a not-so-small Roman city in vasconic territory, Santa Criz has a lot of stories to tells nd you should get a guided tour to avoid missing them. The city's origin, the catastrophe that sent it into decline, the findings under the rubble, and the ethnographic clues left by inscriptions, are all noteworthy. Many of the findings are available in a museum in the nearby Eslava village. Excavations are conducted by an enthusiastic and underfunded team, who are also in charge of the guided visits. I visited in a medium-size group (16 people) with children The guide made everyone enjoy the place and the stories.
