Sleepy national park with gorgeous hidden views
My husband and I were the only people around when we visited just after Songkran. We walked along the barely traversed nature trail that starts near the national park accommodation (that also seemed deserted). There is a waterfall along the path, but the trail was a bit too overgrown to walk the whole way. We then drove our motorbike to the end of the trail marked "view point" and it certainly didn't disappoint. The views overlooking the nearby town of Wa, and the surrounding mountains, were spectacular. All with absolutely no-one around. It costs 50 baht per person to enter, although we had to wake up a snoozing guard to pay the fee. Motorbikes are 20 baht extra. The park is only 6kms from Bo Kluea - certainly worth an hour or two exploring if you're staying in the nearby village.

Nice park, but needed more time
I didn't plan enough time at this park, choosing to visit as a day trip from Nan. Very long and winding road. The best waterfalls and scenery are part of a long hike, 20 km I believe. I did walk 2 km to a scenic overlook, certainly worth the hike. Good place to eat lunch, gazing across the valley towards Laos. If you really want to see what this park has to offer, I recommend either camping at the park or staying in Bo Klua. Nan is just too far away. One bonus though, the men at the entry gate pointed me towards a nearby waterfall, absolutely worth the side trip. See my review on Sapan Waterfall.
