beautiful city square

a large beautiful square right in the middle of old town with some interesting and notable scuptulres and statues. The Labyrinth tour is right on one of the streets. There is a market and numerous restaurants. A place to pass through or a place to spend a relaxing couple of hours.

    Fabulous focal point for exploring.
    We visited the square in August 2020. We had rented a private apartment in the square to overlook all the activities. The square was hosting a beer festival during our weekend stay, which was very much enjoyed! There is very much going on in the square, lots of bars and restaurants. A large dancing fountain is fascinating to watch while sat in a deck chair! Its a perfect place to people watch and soak in the atmosphere.

    Nice town square
    A good central point from which you can explore the city. Just off to one side are the underground caves, which were used to keep fruit and veg fresh. On which note, the daily market here allows you to pick up some lovely fresh fruit for a picnic while there. There's a big statue in the middle which was apparently the place where they used to lock up various unsavoury characters and some other poor souls who were just not the full shilling
