Well eorth the visit

An inexpensive way to spend an hour or so. Music all around you, an interesting introductory visual presentation of the man and his music. He only lived here a short time having been born in the countryside but his school and formative years were here. Excellent presentation of what the town was like at that time, and how people lived in the late 19th century. Not busy at all when I was there on a Saturday afternoon.

Not a typical museum, but good enough :)
Once you a expect a static, typical Czech display-case museum, this is not your cup of tea. Mahler's house is a new style, creative, almost alternative place. You surely get here all the information you need, the person at the reception was very helpful and nice. Personally I really appreciated the room for kids where they can freely play various musical instruments. Temporary photo exhibition on Urbex was a pleasant surprise. You can also stop at a stylish café.

    Required Visit for Mahlerites
Very few captions other than Czech, but with so many photos, it didn't really matter. This is an essential stop on the Mahler Pilgrimage Tour. You also get to see what the town square looked like before the Soviet-style monstrosity that sits there now.
