    Fabulous!
My home mountain is Whistler, but that is not a benchmark with which to compare Turner- unless you want to talk about Polar Opposites: Whistler- 5280 vertical, 30,000 people on the mountain on a busy weekend, over 40 high speed lifts, lots of overpriced eateries, crowded road getting there, really expensive... But some epic terrain Turner- 2100 vertical, 60 people on mountain on a Friday before Presidents' Day, 1 slow lift, nobody on the road coming up, 1 well priced eatery, really inexpensive, really good but not epic terrain. Fun factor- about 50 times that of Whistler. Friendliness- about 100 times. Not bad for a mostly volunteer run mountain. Yes, I like Whitefish, Blacktail, Montana Snowbowl (maybe not so much), Lookout after a dump... But simply nothing compares with the down home ambience of Turner, combined with some terrific steeps. Kudos to the likes of the volunteer manager, ski patroller / handyman/bushwavker Vinnie, cook and ticket seller Jeremiah.

    Always worth the trip
Full disclosure, I lived in Libby which is the nearest town to Turner for 7 years. This was my first return trip in a while, but its charm remains unchanged :-). Amazing terrain, great locals- its only major downside is it is about a 2/3 1/3 Mountain. This means that unless it's quite cold, the bottom third can get a bit heavy. However, when it has powder, it's amazing :-).
