Access to River and Paved Multi-use Trail
This is a small but lovely park on the Whitefish River at Baker Avenue and Fifth Street. You can access the river for fishing, wading, kayaking, etc., or walk or bike on the paved trail along the riverbank. There are also tennis courts and picnic tables, and a playground just a block away in the adjacent Baker Park. When we visited in the summer, people were floating down the river and children were jumping into the water from the pedestrian bridge that crosses it. We parked here and walked the river trail into downtown to the Depot Museum, ate lunch, and walked back. A very pleasant summer day!

Stumbled onto this Riverfront Greenspace/Trail
The city of Whitefish has done a nice job with this bike/pedestrian trail. We started at the playground and walked in the cool, afternoon along the glistening river. We enjoyed watching the ducks (mostly Mallards) glide along offshore. Near the footbridge is a public dock that gives you a close up of the river. There are informational signs describing the ecology or the area. All free and lovely place for a stroll.
