A Glimpse of 3 cultures and history.
Located at the Capitol University. Just tell the person-in-charge at the gate that you are visiting their museum and they would show you the way. We paid 50 pesos for the entrance fee. They have a room all about the owner of the school, room for art exhibits and the main, interesting room for their collections. The artifacts were personally collected by the owner and it's really interesting (visit the place to know why). Our guide was really knowledgeable about the artifacts that made the tour extra special.

Nice small museum of Christian, Muslim and Tribal cultures in Mindinao
This museum is part of Capital University. It has some interesting artifacts and is a nice venue in general, but many of the displays lack labels of identification and explanation. The giant 300 year old ceremonial sword is quite spectacular and was a gift from a sultan. Some of the pieces are replicas (such as the sultan’s bed) custom made for the remarkable late Madame Laureana San Pedro Rosales who founded the university and collected most of the items now on display. There was a knowledgeable and friendly student guide, however, with the lack of labelling, one can not readily tell which are genuine and which are replicas, a serious shortcoming of a museum in my opinion. Nevertheless, in a country woefully short of cultural and historical preservation, the museum is a gallant effort and a pleasant outing.

Pleasant and helpful museum.
The Museum of Three Cultures holds very well displayed artifacts and photographs of the region's history. It is smaller than expected but does a good job covering the basics of Mindanao, Cagayan de Oro City and Marawi City heritage. My guide was very knowledgeable and pleasant. She knew all of the displays well. She also recommended the art gallery located down the hall, but I did not have time to go there. I hope to return, as General MacArthur once famously said when he visited Cagayan de Oro.
