Something Free...History and artifacts.

No entrance fee. The building is near the Church and in front of a park. The structure is already exquisite. There might be few artifacts but it is worth it visiting this place. Some of the pictures are printed on a tarpaulin I think to preserve the original copies so don't be disappointed with it. It's good to have a little knowledge about the place you are visiting.

Great use of a historical structure
If you have an interest in history, this museum is worth a visit. They provide good photos and written history of Cagayan de Oro. There are not many artifact to see besides the building itself, but still gives a good sense of the history of the area. The museum is three-stories, but an easy climb. There are no windows, so it can be a little hot if you are there in the afternoon. The museum is open 9:30 to 5:00 Monday through Friday and is located across the street from Gaston Park. There is no entrance fee.

    Water tank Museum
A unique structure of a Museum, this was a water tank before it was ruined of the bombing by American planes. A great idea to preserve the building, and make useful again and will also be a reminder for the locals. It is most likely a two story building. It was not totally improved inside but the thought of keeping all the memorabilla's of the city will tell the story of Cagayan de Oro.This water tank or tower was constructed in 1922. it served as a reservoir of the old Municipality of Cagayan (now Cagayan de Oro) with water coming from Malasag Hills. the tower is located in the oldest section of the city where the 1622 settlement was first established by the spanish Recollect missionaries for Datu Salangsang and his people. On September 1944, the tower withstood the heavy bombings of the town by American planes. Today, it is the oldest known public structure of the City. The officials of the National Museum of the Philippines lauded the City Government for the ''adaptive reuse of a heritage structure" when the water tower became the Cagayan de Oro City Museum.
