    COVID-safe, worth the visit!
I came away pleasantly surprised by this small museum. They handled COVID really well (you get a free souvenir/stylus to use to press on all the interactive displays), better than the Ford museum, I thought. On Dec 28th mid-day, we were one of only two families in the museum so we felt really safe and socially distanced. My 7-year old son didn’t understand all the exhibits but enjoyed the streets of Detroit and the model trains. I thought the 1967 riot exhibit was particularly well done although I did wish there was a bit more context/background explanation (maybe I just missed this).

    Detroit history
This really is a good place to learn a lot of the history in this town. Many relics are on display, the staff is knowledgeable and there is plenty of information on the walls, and videos. A guided tour is highly recommended, the establishment is donation based, so no entry fee, but we always donate, other wise we wouldn't have these things to appreciate. This is not a must see, but worth it if you have time whilst visiting Detroit.
