Village and Lake of Ancient Mountian People
The village of Xiang Tian Hu (向天湖) contains the world's only museum of the Siangtian tribe. The Siangtian are one of Taiwan's smaller aboriginal tribes. There are about 5,000 members and they live in a few places in the mountains of Xinzhu and Miaoli Counties. The museum is very informative with everything clearly labeled in English. View of the mountains in the Siangtian village of Xiang Tian Hu, Miaoli County, Taiwan The location of the village is quite spectacular beside a small lake surrounded by mountains. The village is at an altitude of 880 metres. The village also hosts the "pygmy dance" ( 矮靈祭) once every two years. The next dance will be next year (2016). Siangtian Lake is located in the Dngho Villag of Nanzhuang in Miaoli County , and sits at the foothills of Guangtian Moutntain and the Siantian Mountain. An interesting place to visit high up a windy road.

    Lake on top of mountain
My wife and I recently visited this area. It is very nice however the day we went it was very foggy and couldn't see much of the lake. There is a nice Aboriginal Museum next to the lake for $30. There's a small hike you can do that goes around the lake. Lots of stalls sell local food and beer
