Absolutely worth a stop

Do stop for this museum! Fascinating insight into many aspects of Berber life, architecture, etc. The kindly manager saw us entering the reception area, and straight away dragged our teenagers to the swimming pool, so they could swim (free of charge) in the hotel pool while we explored the museum at our ease. You can finish your visit with a meal on their lovely terrace.

    A fascinating small museum
    This museum is in the Ksar of El Khorbat. It’s interesting to wander through the streets of the Ksar and meet its residents, although it seems most only speak Berber. The museum is small but it’s packed full of artifacts and documents that explain Berber history and show how daily life worked. It’s really well organized so you can learn about agriculture, medicine, cooking, clothing, family life, and many other things. Written explanations are in several languages, including English. Even if you stop to look at everything and read all of the information, you can cover the whole museum in 1 1/2 hours or less. That leaves time for a meal in the restaurant nearby which is very good, with a nice menu, good food, and an excellent staff.

    A pleasant stop
    We (a group of 7) stopped here as part of our Intrepid tour itinerary when on the go from Erg Chebbi to Todra Gorge & all of us were pleasantly surprised (as noted by all previous reviewers). The quickest someone went through was 30 minutes with most of us needing an hour. Order your lunch before you wander through & the restaurant will start the preparations. The food from the restaurant was good served in a pleasant courtyard.
