Very interesting place to visit in the deserts of Merzouga, Morocco!
Mezane Fossil Store is a store of artworks with fossils located in Rissani near the Erg chebbi sand dunes, a town on road between Arfoud and Merzouga Desert, in Morocco. We came here and visited the place: it is really very interesting, you can learn how the artworks with fossils are manufactured. Also, you can buy some of pieces with fossils. Very interesting and very beautiful works. Highly recommended place to visit in the deserts of Morocco.

See How Fossils are quarried and polished
Our tour went to this Fossil Store. We were given an explanation of how the fossils were mined from the Atlas Mountains as well as how they are cut polished and sold commercially. Very interesting. Some very unique large pieces as well as small souvenirs.
