Last I was there in 2006 it was still nice to visit..
From the aerial view there is now a building....probably a cafe, but back in 1987 and even in subsequent years it was a great place for a swim for a few hours. the water is somewhat salty but it matches the salinity of your eyes so you could open them fine underwater. less than 100 meters away they drilled for water and they get fresh but very hot water! Try to visit the bedouin on the outskirts. Very friendly with little contact with the outside world, try to visit when they are shearing the sheep!
