A Spectacular Summer Evening in Winter Island Park

We attended a party at the Winter Island Function Hall on a beautiful summer evening. On what had been a humid day, the temperature was perfect on the island thanks to the ocean breeze. A wide porch with seating surrounds the two water-facing sides of the building, making the function hall an ideal venue for indoor/outdoor events. The asymetric rocky shoreline provides a perfect backdrop for selfies and photoshoots, especially at sunset. Inside the comfortable function hall is a floor to ceiling fireplace that adds to the ambiance of the seaside structure. A grassy area flanks the building and is a safe space for children to blow off steam or to host a game of corn hole. Also on the unique property in the Witch City is a beach and a campground that can accommodate tents, campers, and RVs. Salem decision-makers have been wise to preserve Winter Island Park as a North Shore treasure.

    A beautiful area ro visit
We visited in September when much of the amusements (not many) were closed. Only a takeaway snack kiosk was open. What a lovely area, peaceful and so pretty. The park looks out of Salem harbour and also out to sea. Very envious of the gorgeous clapperboard houses in the area. Take a picnic and enjoy the scenery. However suspect it would be very busy in high season

Great shells and aquatic life at low tide.
Very cold, wind is biting, but found a killer moon shell. Super large! Very clean beach, super rocky. Not sure if I would dig it in the summer to swim, but definitely different than the beaches of Long Island. And for that, I thank you!
