Christmas Visit
Very interesting presentation by the friendly, knowledgeable guide. Small group allowed for conversation and questions. Our guide provided information about the history of Worcester as well as many facts about one of its most prominent families. I highly recommend this tour.

Beautifully preserved house built in the 1700s
I love looking at stately mansions. This house sits on the top of a hill basically across the street from the Worcester Art Museum. Apparently, it was moved to it's current location in 1929 because the town thought it's original location too valuable to be inhabited my this house. This house was originally part general store and part residence. Eventually, in the 1830's, it became entirely a residence. This house is beautifully maintained. A tour guide takes you through, tells you the family's history, the house's history and points out its interesting contents. I just loved the wallpaper in one particular room on the second floor. My husband felt that the tour guide, although very knowledgeable, was dull. The walking tour of the house took a little under 1 hour. Since most of the furniture is over 200 years old, you have to be very careful about what you touch and where you sit. The house has limited hours, so be sure to check their website before coming. One big plus is that there is plenty of parking.
