Nice park!

We had a couple of hours to kill on our recent visit to Fall River as the Lizzie Borden house doesn't start tours until 11am (because it's also an operating bed and breakfast). So we found this park and stopped here to let our 7 year old son get out some of his energy. It is a very pretty park with lots of playground equipment for kids. There were several kids there and my son made some new friends while he played. It was a nice cool sunny morning and my wife and I enjoyed just sitting and relaxing and watching our son and the other kids play.

Great playground where ALL kids can play!
Kennedy Park is the largest of the City's parks in the City of Fall River. Kennedy Park is an historic park designed by famed Fredrick Law Olmstead who also designed Central Park in NYC. The Park is split into 3 sections: Upper (Borders - S.Main St, Middle St, Broadway and Bradford Ave), Middle (Borders - Broadway, Middle St., Bay St. and Bradford Ave), and the Lower (Borders - Bay St, Middle St, Club St and Mt. Hope Bay coastline). Kennedy Park features: 2 Softball fields - One at upper section of the park, one at the lower section of the park. 2 Little league fields - Both at the upper section 3 Basketball Courts (brand new as of 2016) - Located at the upper section 4 Tennis courts - Located at the middle section A Pavilion with spectacular views of Mount Hope Bay - Located at the middle section A Warming House (bathrooms) - Located at the middle section A Scenic Overlook (overlooks Mount Hope Bay) - Located at the lower section An Ice Skating Rink (HUGE!) / During summer months you can see kids roller skating, bike riding, etc here - Located at the middle section Walking paths - Throughout the park, but the upper park has one that is ideal for laps and is 0.7 miles around. Huge sledding hill - Just beyond the pavilion located at the middle section One of the most prominent features is a NEW Inclusive Playground completed in June 2014. The playground is in natural colors so it blends with the landscape of the historical park. It features an all steel design with double wide ramps throughout so 2 wheelchairs can pass each other. It is beautifully shaded by large mature trees. The flooring at the playground is GTImpax Turf which is a synthetic turf safety surfacing. It has a 12' fall height meaning it protects kids from broken bones and concussions if they accidentally fall from the equipment (tallest point of the playground is 8'). It is also accessible for children with mobility devices and once again, blends with the natural landscape. There is a 5-12 yr old section of the playground that is 100'X60'. Max height is 8' with slides, climbers, bridges, etc. There is a 2-5 yr area that is 92'X53' with a max height of 4'. There is also a Swing/Picnic area that is 61'X58'. There are adequate benches and the picnic tables are accessible. There are 2 belt swings, 2 toddler swings, 2 ADA swings and a tire swing. There are multiple climbers, slides, spinners, a seesaw, etc throughout. This playground is HUGE and is a place where ALL kids can play. Kennedy Park is centrally located in the City and near the finest Fall River attractions including the Lizzie Borden Bed & Breakfast, Heritage Park, Downtown, Battleship Cove, the Carousel and the waterfront.
