Charles River Bike Path, Massachusetts, United States

4.5 (223 reviews) Spent Ranking #8 in Cambridge Biking Trails

Best run in Boston

This area along the banks of the Charles where the river broadens into the basin is one of the nicest spots in town for a walk, run, or ride when the weather is pleasant. The flowering trees along the water definitely make it worth a visit in early May.

    Great views
The Charles River bike path is beautiful. Great scenery as you cruise along the water. It’s like an escape from the city while being in the city. Running walking or biking, you throughly enjoy your time on the path

    Cycle down the river path
We used the Charles River bike path during our stay in Boston. It was a little tricky to find for out-of-towners (our opinion) as we hoped to pick it up via Paul Revere park without much success - around the Science Park area there are a number of crossings and limited signage directing users to the path, which could be introduced to help tourists. That said, once we did find it (via the help of a jogger) we had a lovely cycle down to Harvard and back again.
