Beautiful woods, poor condition though

I grew up walking in these woods. The quality of the woods has deteriorated. So many trees are dead and many have been blown over. Burning Bush, a non-native, is spreading like wildfire. (It has ununusual branches-almost like fins on the branches). This is a problem because the insects that live in this area do not feed on the Burning Bush. The BB takes up space that native plants otherwise would have used. So insects have less to feed on, so there are fewer of them, and in turn birds have less to feed on-so fewer birds. I don't know if all the dog poop from the masses of dogs dog walkers take here has an effect on the trees. It is a beautiful place, but it needs some TLC.

Good Park that Could Be Great
Callahan Park is a really nice spot that offers a very accessable trail (packed dirt, fairly flat) for folks and their dogs to walk along. My main complaint is that not all the dog owners are picking up after their pet. There is a trash bag and baggie station so I am not sure why this park is so littered with litter. I imagine with a few dedicated clean up sessions, it could be back to its former glory.

Callahan State Park aka Poop ( Feces) Park
At one time this was a great place to walk with the kids, but within the past number of years it has been considered poop park due to all the dogs in the area that come from near and far. The walking trails have dog poop at varies intervals and it is a same that the some owners do not pick up after their dogs. We stopped by this park this past summer and it will be along time before we come back. I know that we are not the only ones not happy with this. There needs to be some type of tenant that can keep watch over this.
