Jardin Majorelle, Marrakech-Safi, Morocco

4.5 (50.9k reviews) Tuesday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Ranking #2 in Marrakech Gardens

A haven of peace amidst the crazy city!

Nicely designed and maintained gardens, similar to those of Generalife in Granada, Spain. It’s a good place to recoup from the intensity of the market atmosphere.

    Buy tickets online!
I bought a combined ticket for the YSL museum and gardens online which needs to be done 24hrs in advance. If you turn up on the day to buy tickets you will likely have to queue whereas you stroll on in with your pre-bought ticket. Note - the museum is closed on a Wednesday. The gardens are beautiful but very touristy and you have to fight for your chance for photographs due to the many photoshoots going on around you. Had a lovely lunch in the cafe and highly recommend the fresh lemonade which was refreshing on a super hot day. Well worth a visit.

No to be skipped if planned properly
Purchase tickets online and in advance to avoid lines. Go early-preferably when they open at 8 am to avoid the onslaught of tourists and instagramers who show up after 8.30 am. Student tickets are specifically for International University level students (this confirmation came directly via email from Jardin Majorelle info team) so purchase tix accordingly. Gardens are beautiful-more so when it is not very busy. The Berber museum was very well put together and thoughtful to the Berber culture and traditions. Very informative. Depending on how busy it is, how many pictures you take, min time spent here is probably 30 mins.
